Review: This is one of the coolest places in absolute most if one is looking for a wellness trip. Truly amazing place with fabulous people working there! I did a 4 day Spa Wellness retreat, first time doing such a thing as I normally go on pure vacations and thought I would do a little something different and it was the best decision I made. in the a.m. hours, you do physical activities. And then in the entire afternoon you get treatments. You’re around well minded people. I will absolutely going back there!

Review: I recently had the pleasure of staying at Cal-a-Vie Resort and Health SPA, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The luxurious accommodations, coupled with exceptional service, made my stay truly memorable. The resort’s prime location in Southern California was easily accessible and a pleasant drive.
My daily schedule was exclusively and meticulously planned for me, beginning with a sunrise hike to my daily exercise regimen, the nutritious cuisine, my wellness treatments and relaxing message therapies.
Thank you for making my first Wellness Retreat such an incredible & memorable experience. I feel fantastic after all the fitness activities. I can’t wait to “Get Rooted” with you again soon. Exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

Review: Just returning from an exceptional stay at Cal-a-Vie Health Spa with my husband, and it was hands down the best spa experience we’ve ever had across North & South America. As one of the ‘Top 10 Best Spas in the World’ (Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards), Cal-a-Vie exceeded every expectation.
We experienced the *LA PETITE PACKAGE* at $5,750 USD per person, which was the perfect weekday escape. Nestled on over 500 private acres in Vista, north of San Diego, the spa’s serene location surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields provided the ideal backdrop for relaxation.
One of the most memorable aspects of the spa is the coveted Chapel and L’Orangerie, originally from Dijon, France. Shipped and resurrected stone by stone on a hilltop, this 400-year-old gem is officially the oldest building in San Diego County, adding a sense of timeless beauty and history to the retreat.
The service was unparalleled, with a 5:1 staff-to-guest ratio and only 32 private villas, ensuring that every guest receives the utmost care. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. The spa attendants, in particular, were so lovely and passionate about ensuring our happiness, making us feel like their top priority throughout our stay.
My husband was thrilled that golf was available as an add-on, offering 18 holes for $150, which he loved while I enjoyed the luxurious spa treatments.
From the wellness programs to the gourmet, health-conscious meals, everything was designed to promote relaxation and well-being. The attention to detail, combined with the intimate setting, delivered the gold standard in spa stays. Morning yoga, scenic hikes, and peaceful spa moments left us feeling completely rejuvenated.
For couples seeking an extraordinary wellness retreat, Cal-a-Vie Health Spa is unmatched. We can’t wait to return! Five stars all the way!

Review: My husband bought this trip for us in December 2019, three months before the Pandemic shutdown. Unfortunately, we could not get it booked until June, 2022. California was the last to take off masks and mandates, so this was the best time we could make it work. We were told by management, the pricing was going up soon so we would have to pay the difference if we did not get it booked ASAP. We booked it, and felt maybe we would have been better off paying the difference due to our service. Upon arrival we did not feel like we received the same attention as the other guests. Our room (room #1) was old and we were told by staff on about three occasions that rarely do they put people in that room. We know why….the shower was broken (asked to fix but barely trickled out) the room was small and everything seemed run down. The other guests raved about their rooms and were definitely far nicer than ours. We did not get a tour of the property as the others did, so we showed ourselves around. Unfortunately did not find out about the Cryo therapy until the last day, nor did we know the ins and out of anything so would ask others for guidance. The lady who checked us in for activities seemed a bit short and not very friendly. I told her I was allergic to crab and my husband would not eat one thing with onions and low and behold, one of my first meals was full of crab that I had to return and my husband had onions in any dish served with onions included. My name was spelled wrong on tags and the table place holders so I felt like the attention to detail was lacking. We arrived 10 minutes after appetizers at 6:40 which started at 6:30 and the food was gone and were told that was it. Strange to pay this for a wellness place and not be treated as I believe we should have been. On a positive note, the food was tasty, good morning workouts, and the spa treatments were great! The view from the top was beautiful, but strangely did not see it until the 2nd or 3rd night and the resort should have people up there immediately since it is such a beautiful view near the vineyard. Overall we are glad we got to see what it was all about, and got to visit beautiful California!!
