We went specifically to try the mud bath, and it truly exceeded our expectations—it was a full sensory journey! The smell might catch you off guard at first, but that’s just the natural sulfur. Once you ease into the hot mud and feel the warmth seep into your body, you’ll understand why this is such a cherished tradition.
Our attendant, Maria, was absolutely wonderful—kind, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. After the mud bath, we enjoyed a soothing hot mineral bath, followed by a tranquil cool-down wrap with a cozy blanket and fresh cucumbers on our eyes.
The property is small and charming, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. Just a tip: eat light beforehand and definitely hydrate well—you’ll thank yourself later.

There were a heated pool, two jacuzzi’s at different temperature, with shower facilities. They were nice and functioning. The mud bath was a unique experience accompanied with a restful time. They also offer bikes at no fee that we took to explore the town as well as passing the vineyards near Calistoga. We were very pleased with our stay and will come back. Date: a month ago

Name: Alice Seabaugh Rating: 5 Review: The Golden Haven was perfect for what we were looking for. This was the second leg of our trip and we wanted to explore Calistoga and have a relaxing spa day. The location is great and we were able to take the free bikes on property into downtown to explore. We also did the mud bath and massage experience which was incredibly unique and relaxing. Ed did my massage and it was one of the best massages I’ve had. The rooms were exactly what I thought with plenty of room and a comfortable bed and a plus was we had a ceiling fan which hotels never have. Date: 2 months ago
