Review: I recently booked a facial and it was amazing. Very relaxing and refreshing. Since my facial was amazing, I thought I’d book myself a massage. As a new mom, I took the opportunity to treat myself for Mother’s Day. I was planning to relax and unwind a little. However, my massage was far from relaxing. I booked the salt stone massage and it was the most aggressive back rub I’ve ever had. There was no communication regarding pressure preference or comfortability of the temperature of the stones. I was unable to relax because the masseuse was rubbing my back and arms in such a quick manner. The ‘head massage’ was a rough scratch through my head. The ‘foot massage’ was a rough pull of my toes.
Moving to my neck, there was no communication to see if the stones were at a good temperature. She put the hot stones on more sensitive parts of my skin and left it sitting there until I asked her to move it.
When the massage was over, she threw an eye mask over my eyes and then continued to gather her belongings.
It was NOT a relaxing experience for my first Mother’s Day.
