Review: A restorative experience at Tomoko! Had an enjoyable couples massage. The spa lacks amenities like a sauna, water treatments, etc. but still has a calming atmosphere that feels like a far away destination. The treatment room was serene and spacious. What I liked was built in time before and after the service to relax in the treatment room. It was nice to not feel rushed into leaving. Our massages were very good (and I’m picky. I prefer a chiro massage over most day spas. I want someone to really work on me and not just rub lotion on my back). My therapist understood the assignment and got after it. The tea service was a nice end to the experience. The customer service was lovely. I already booked my next appointment!

Review: Awful!
It’s not worth money.
I knew a lot celebrities came here before like Justin Bieber, and Hailey.
But I had so many different massages all over the world. This is the worst!
I paid $300 more for nothing!
It was not a massage, my masseur just touched my body very light!
Although they were humble, a lot people can not be rude when someone is humble but doing a Kuku Job.
But I was so pissed! I am paying you money just buying you a humble face! I was almost suffocated because this kind of too polite way!

Review: It had all the potential to be a great place! But it isn’t! Their rescheduling policy is the worst in the world. They are only after your money in a dishonest way and lack any essence of Japanese hospitality. Nothing at all! It does not provide an experience similar to what you would have in Japan. I have been to Japan many times and can speak from experience. When I complained on their Instagram page, I was blocked. This is why the spa doesn’t have many comments on their Instagram posts. However, I made sure to inform my 13,000 followers about who they are, as well as the groups from the private school my children attend, my architect colleagues, and Italian groups.
If you need to reschedule a day in advance, you will pay 20% more than you already paid, and if you try to do it on the same day, they will keep the money that has already been charged to your card at the time of booking. If a customer is paying to book and needs to change their spa date, that customer is serious. This has never been taken into consideration. It’s not about the money; I tip more than that at various places I frequent. It’s about honesty and dignity. The spa cannot represent Japanese society. They are tarnishing the reputation of Japan’s hospitality. If it were a matter of cancellation, I believe it would be fair to the spa. But it should never be this way for rescheduling by someone who has already been to the spa. They simply do not care.
Honestly, it’s not a place so remarkable that it justifies having such a poor rescheduling policy. It’s just an okay place. And there may be reviews here that are not from genuine customers. Unfortunately, this is a shame for a culture I deeply appreciate. Of course, the spa wouldn’t stay open for long in Japan, which is why they operate outside of it.

Review: Amazing. It was a rainy day in LA and this was a wonderful escape from it all. Upon entering I was provided slippers and escorted to the calming waiting area. I chose the Tomoko massage which began with a private soothing foot wash and massage in my room with some warm tea. The massage therapist was absolutely perfect with the amount of pressure and stretching. I even dozed off mid massage because it was so soothing. Afterwards they have an in room shower where you can wash up before leaving. Upon leaving the private room you’re welcomed to a chair with your shoes set up, small departing gifts and the bill discreetly set for gratuity. I will definitely return for another soothing experience on my next visit.

Review: No wonder this spa has an incredibly rating! It’s truly one of the unique and relaxing spa experiences I’ve had in LA! I did a 90 min prenatal massage and I could not be happier with the treatment. From the minute I arrived I was completely comfortable, the slippers, the robe, the private room, the delicious tea and the thoughtful details! It’s on the pricier side but clearly for a reason! Highly recommend
